Saline County, KS (KTRS)   Three Kansas men are jailed in connection with shooting a southern Illinois police officer.

The suspects, Alex Bryan Karcher, Xavier Lee McCray, and Xavier Everett Lewis, have been charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder in the shooting of Carbondale Police Officer Trey Harris on July 31st. Harris was released from a St. Louis area hospital last week.

The three were arrested Sunday and Monday in Saline County, Kansas. They are being held at the Saline County jail on $1 million bond.
