ST. LOUIS (KTRS) St. Louis County police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a Creve Coeur man dead after he allegedly pointed a gun at officers who were chasing him. The man who was shot is identified as 27-year-old Isaiah Perkins of Creve Coeur.
It happened just before 9 pm in the 6100 block of Laura. Police say they were after a vehicle which was involved in a crime the night before where an officer was assaulted.
Police say after they used spike strips to stop the vehicle near Natural Bridge and Goodfellow, two people in the car ran away but one was caught and Tasered.
A struggle ensued and according to Lt. Colonel Lawrence O’Toole, that suspect aimed a gun at officers. The suspect was shot to death by an officer aiding another who was involved in the struggle.
The officers were not hurt. This is the fifth fatal shooting by St. Louis police in the last three months. The other four were in South City.
