ST. LOUIS (KTRS) The Humane Society of Missouri will be treating 55 dogs after staffers removed the dogs from two homes in southern Missouri. One Humane Society official tells KTRS News the dogs were victims of a hoarding situation.
The Humane Society says the rescue on Thursday came after a concerned resident contacted the Howell County Sheriff’s Department about dogs living in filthy conditions. The organization says many of the dogs have eye and skin infections.
The majority of the dogs are Chihuahua and terrier mixes. Some are as young as 1 month old.
Plans call for the dogs to be put up for adoption after treatment by veterinarians in St. Louis.
