Swansea, IL  (KTRS)  A suspect is being sought after an 8-year-old girl in Swansea claims she was assaulted.

Police have issued a Code Red after the child told her guardian a man approached her and fondled her on Sunday afternoon in the area of Fullerton Road. The child claims a male came up to her from behind, held her mouth and forcefully touched her, over her clothing. The male then ran towards the Metro Station area.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his fifties or sixties, with a grayish beard, wearing a long sleeve plaid shirt. He had a pair of glasses folded up in his shirt pocket and was wearing black and white Nike running shoes. He also had a cellular phone clipped to the waist of his pants.
