10)Iowa @ Nebraska(November 25th)-Is this the defacto title game for the B1G West? It could be. Iowa’s schedule is cake, and they very well could be undefeated late into November. Nebraska was sub-.500 in Mike Riley’s debut season in Lincoln, but with a Sr. in Tommy Armstrong at QB, will be force to be reckoned with again. It will take some doing, but this game could be higher up on the list by the time the season is over.
9)Notre Dame @ USC(November 26th)-The schedule for the Fightin’ Irish this year shapes up pretty well. Home games against Stanford, Michigan St. and Miami FL, with @ Texas week 1 their toughest road test, until Thanksgiving weekend. USC’s offense this year will be tough to stop, and either one of these teams could be at the very least, a bubble team heading into this regular season finale.
8)Alabama @ Ole Miss(September 17th)-Week 3 of the college football season is absolutely loaded, and this game practically stands alone in the middle of the afternoon. Bama has lost 2 straight to the Rebels, somehow, and in my mind, has every bit of motivation to stomp Ole Miss in Oxford. But Hugh Freeze’s team always seems to contend, in September anyway, and has maybe the league’s best QB at the helm in Chad Kelly.
7)Tennessee @ Georgia(October 1st)-If Tennessee is a legit national title contender, this is a game they must have. Kirby Smart is going to have UGA’s defense playing at a different level though in 2016, and by this date, Jacob Eason should be the starting QB for the Dawgs. If Butch Jones can’t get this game, you have to wonder if he will ever get a shot at the “Big One” in Knoxville.
6)Stanford @ UCLA(September 24th)-UCLA’s schedule sets up very nicely for the Bruins to be standing atop the P12 when it’s all said and done. This game could also feature TWO Heisman Trophy finalists. Christian McCaffrey AND Josh Rosen.
5)Florida St. @ Louisville(September 17th) Week 3 ALERT!! If the FSU v Clemson game is to carry all the weight we think it will, the ‘Noles need to escape this trap. All the indications are pointing to Bobby Petrino having his best team since his first stint as Louisville coach. FSU has talent everywhere, but they have shown the ability to disappoint when the Crab Legs King isn’t the QB.
4)B1G Round Robin-Michigan St, Michigan, Ohio St-Advantage Sparty? Michigan St. hosts both Michigan and Ohio St this year, after a season where they defeated both on the road. Michigan I believe is the most talented of this group, especially on defense. The Buckeyes though have JT Barrett back at QB. Whichever of these teams emerge from the carnage, could very well be at the table for the College Football Playoff.
3)Ohio St. @ Oklahoma(September 17th)-Yeah, that Week 3 talk is legit, folks! This caps off an incredible day of college football. The Sooners could find themselves atop the first College Football Playoff rankings with a win at home over the Buckeyes. Ohio St. is very young, but just stockpiling talent at a Saban type level. This game has all the makings of a Instant Classic.
2)Clemson @ Florida St.(October 29th-DeShaun Watson heads an unbelievable Heisman class this year, and if his Tigers win this game on the road, will lead the favorites for the CFB Playoff. This game is starting to develop the feel of an annual National Quarterfinal. Florida St., is at the top of many lists to win it all this year. Something will have to give.
1)Alabama @ LSU(November 5th)-The original National Quarterfinal, or in the BCS days, the National Semifinal. Alabama’s team is going to be so stinkin’ good again this year. No doubt, but their schedule is a Murderer’s Row. LSU recruits the same caliber athletes as Bama, and they have this game at Death Valley, with a Heisman caliber running back in Leonard Fournette and with all the tragedy the Baton Rouge community has endured this ummer, a feel of Team of Destiny.
