(KTRS) – A trio of suspects are in custody after leading police on a chase that started in Missouri, but ended in Illinois.

The incident began around 9:30 when Velda City police encountered suspected car thieves. The suspects led police on a chase on Interstate 70. 50 minutes later, police found the suspects’ vehicle empty, but captured them just a short time later.

Fox 2 reports the Velda City police chief sustained minor injuries after crashing into another car during the chase.
