Jefferson City, MO (KTRS) The search is underway in Missouri for the Christmas tree that will adorn the lawn of the Governor’s Mansion.
The donated tree must be about 40 feet tall and an eastern red cedar, Norway spruce or white pine. Candidate trees must be fully branched on all sides and accessible by large equipment. They also may either be near the end of its life or may need to be removed for other reasons.
Landowners, homeowners, businesses and communities are urged to contact the Missouri Department of Conservation about possible candidates by September 30th.
The owner of the selected tree receives an invitation to the lighting ceremony.
