St. Louis County, MO  (KTRS)  Two teenagers are dead after drowning in the Meramec River in Castlewood State Park over the weekend.

Police say the bodies of 18-year-old Henry Manu and 17-year-old Samuel Neal, both of south St. Louis, were found late Saturday night in the Meramec River at the park. Witnesses told police they saw Manu and Neal struggling to swim before they disappeared in the water.

They were swimming in an area where swimming is prohibited.

Meanwhile, students and staff gathered at Lutheran South High School on Sunday to remember Manu.  He was a varsity football player at the school.
