St. Louis, MO (KTRS) A longtime member of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen is seeking a higher office.
Alderwoman Lyda Krewson announced her candidacy Tuesday morning through a posting on YouTube. Krewson is 63 and has been a member of the board for nearly two decades. She also is chief financial officer of PGAV Architects.
She says her top priority will be public safety. Krewson herself was a victim of crime. Krewson’s husband was fatally shot during a 1995 carjacking while she and the couple’s two young children were in the car.
Aldermanic President Lewis Reed has also announced he will seek the Democratic nomination.
