(KTRS) – The woman who was watching an 18-month-old boy when he died in 2009, is headed to prison for five years.

A jury concluded in April that Lisa West was responsible for the head injury that led to Mason Beach’s death. Prosecutors said that West hit the boy shortly after his mother dropped him off at West’s home day care.

West was not arrested for the crime until 2013.
