(KTRS/AP) – Michael Sam is joining the chorus of voices against a measure to protect some Missouri businesses that deny services for same-sex weddings.
Sam said the proposal is the opposite of respect and equality. Supporters of the measure say it’s needed to shield florists and photographers who cite religion when denying goods and services for weddings of same-sex couples, while opponents say its legalizes discrimination.
A House committee is expected to vote this evening on the measure. It has already passed the Senate.
