(KTRS/AP) – Police in Wentzville say a man found dead after a house fire may have had self-inflicted wounds.

The Major Case Squad was called in to help investigate the death of 26-year-old Ruben Martinez. His body was found around 1:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday. Now the Major Case Squad is off the case after investigators could not rule out the possibility that Martinez stabbed himself and started the fire intentionally.

Wentzville police are leading the investigation.
