(KTRS) – Missouri has some of the lowest so-called sin taxes in the nation. A new report from the financial services provider Credio created the rankings by looking at state’s taxes on tobacco products, liquor, wine, beer, and state sales tax.
Missouri benefited in the report from the lowest cigarette tax rate in the nation at just 17-cents per pack. In Illinois, it is a different story, the state earned the seventh spot. The report cited the state’s high tobacco and sales tax.

Beer Tax (Dollars per Gallon): $0.23
State Sales Tax: 6.25%
