St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  A business partner of Stan Kroenke wants tax dollars for a Maryland Heights development project.

The “St. Louis Post Dispatch” reports that Alan Bornstein is looking to develop 1800 acres along the Missouri River next to Creve Coeur Lake Park into a retail, entertainment, office, residential and sports district. The Maryland Heights City Council last night began the formal process that would allow for tax incentives to aid in the redevelopment, voting to advertise a request for proposals.

City officials say they are open to other proposals and not just Borstein’s proposal. However, city officials say Borstein  is the first since 2008 to come forward and offer to redevelop the area.

Once proposals have been submitted, the council could decide offer tax incentives to contribute to the development.
