St. Louis, MO (KTRS) St. Louis has a new initiative for combating crime.
On Tuesday Alderman Antonio French and Mayor Francis Slay reached an agreement on a new city crime plan. The initiative outlines four points:
1.) Identifies 15 Focus Neighborhoods: Three in south St. Louis and twelve in north St. Louis
2.) Commits resources over a 2-year period to these neighborhoods
3.) Includes more than police resources, including Forestry, Park Rangers, Youth Activities, Job Placement, and Economic Development planning
4.) Provides for Public Accountability and Input via the Public Safety Committee
City officials say most of the murders this year have been committed with guns and 50-percent of those murders remain unsolved.
The plan may be viewed online at www.comprehensiveplan.org.
