( KTRS ) Authorities are reporting and responding to an officer involved shooting.

Officers responded Thursday night to the 10100 block of Puttington in Lakeshire, to a report of a “cutting”. Upon arrival police say the suspect, a 30 year old male, physically assaulted two family members, a 33 year old female, and a 12 year old boy, with a claw hammer and a knife.

After a confrontation outside of the residence between the suspect and police, the armed suspect was shot by and transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The two victims were also transported to a local hospital. The 33 year old female reportedly sustained life threatening injuries. No more information is available at this time.
