SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) – Illinois State Fair officials have landed rock band Three Doors Down to replace Gregg Allman for the grandstand on Aug. 21, the last night of the fair.
The band will join co-headliner ZZ Top. Allman pulled out last week. He cited “serious health issues” that require a doctor’s care. Three Doors Down has sold 20 million albums and performed with artists such as Daughtry, Megadeth, Nickleback and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Hits include “Here Without You,” “Kryptonite,” and “It’s Not My Time.”
Sold tickets remain valid. Buyers may seek a refund because of Allman’s cancellation through Ticketmaster. Those who bought tickets at the fair box office may submit a form – available online or at the box office – and the unused tickets.
