( KTRS ) Two people are dead, one victim is wounded and a police officer is recovering after a shooting in St. Louis.

Authorities believe the incident began as an altercation broke out on a front porch of a home in the 3000 block of Miami. Police say a suspect produced a gun among a group of people, one man was fatally shot during a struggle over the weapon.

The gunman then reportedly fatally shot a woman, and another man, who was taken to a hospital.

When officers arrived, the suspect fired at them. One officer’s leg was grazed by a ricocheting bullet. Officers fired back and the suspect was taken in to custody.

The identity of the victims has not been released at this time.
