(KTRS) – The St. Louis Zoo is sharing their vision for the future, unveiling a half-billion dollar, 25-year plan.
The most visible change to the property would be the construction of a 2,000-foot-long gondola that runs from the old Forest Park Hospital, across the highway, and into the zoo. The Post-Dispatch reports that officials also want to build several new habitats and bring new animals to St. Louis. Designs include homes for flamingos, snow leopards, and even giant pandas.
Zoo officials said passage of a sales tax proposal is crucial to fund the plans.
