DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders says the “virtual tie” he has secured in Iowa in the Iowa caucuses with rival Hillary Clinton sends a profound message that it’s “too late for establishment politics and establishment economics.”
Sanders says he’ll wind up with about “half of the Iowa delegates.”
Hillary Clinton says the extremely close finish with Bernie Sanders has caused her to have “a big sigh of relief.” Clinton spoke late Monday as the Democratic Iowa caucuses were still being decided. She called the race a “contest of ideas” and said she looks forward to the race against Sanders.
Third place finisher Martin O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland, ended his quest for the nomination.
