St. Louis County, MO  (KTRS)  A Missouri State trooper is recovering after an accident involving a suspected drunk driver in north county.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the trooper was conducting a routine traffic stop along I-170 near Scudder early Sunday morning when his patrol car was rear-ended by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is suspected to have been intoxicated.

The trooper was transported to an area hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.
