Woodstock too place in upstate New York from Friday, August 15th – Monday morning, August 18th – Jimi Hendrix was supposed to play Sunday night, to close out the festival, but the acts ran long, and he finally took the stage, Monday morning, and rocked the crowd from 9am-11:10am. We never got a chance to speak to him, but over the years, we spoke to many people that were there that weekend, from David Crosby and Graham Nash, to Carlos Santana and Richie Havens. Local Kirkwood native David Sanborn was with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band for their set, and we even spoke to Elliot Tiber, the man whose $1 concert permit allowed the promoters to move to Yasgur’s farm at the last minute. We took a rapid fire look back at our conversations over the years. Enjoy!
