An investigation into a stolen car this afternoon led to an altercation that left a suspect dead and a St. Louis Police officer taken to a hospital with injuries.  The officer shot the suspect in the chest and was himself injured in the incident at a gas station near the intersection of Goodfellow and Lillian. Investigators are trying to determine why the officer shot the suspect. The officer’s injuries are called non-life-threatening.   No names released yet.
