Affton, MO  (KTRS)  A suspect is hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting in south county.

Police say officers were called to a home in the 7700 block of Harlan in Affton at just after 6:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the investigation, a man came to the door with a gun in one hand and a sword in the other hand when officers knocked.

The suspect then stepped outside with the weapons. Police say the officers gave commands for the suspect to drop the weapons. When he didn’t comply, that’s one of the officers shot the suspect.

The suspect is listed in critical condition. His name hasn’t been released.
