Witnesses say the friend claimed his dog weighed 290 pounds. Beary said he didn’t believe it. Witnesses said he even began joking about how he was 325 pounds and couldn’t imagine a dog his own size.
A physical fight later ensued between the suspect and Beary. This led to gunfire. A Troy, Missouri man was also shot, but survived.
