( KTRS ) If you’re heading to downtown St. Louis this weekend, you may want to check your route for detours and pink ribbons. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – event, will be taking place this Saturday at Poelker Park.
Portions of Olive Street, Compton Avenue and Market Street will close Friday through Saturday for the event.
Runners begin at 13th Street, head west on Olive Street, south on Compton Avenue, east on Market Street, and conclude at 15th Street and Market Street.

The goal of the event is to raise $1.5 million for breast cancer research. 50% of that, has already been raised.
