Six St.Louis area projects designed to address food insecurity in urban areas have been awarded funding from the MO Department of Agriculture.The monies come from the Food Insecure Cost-Share Grant Program and will be used to increase food production and availablity for local residents. Earth Dance in Ferguson, UG Commissary in Bridgeton, Seed St.Louis, and Midtown Community Services , New Roots Urban Farm, and the Good Journey Development Foundation, all also in St.Louis , will each receive up to $50,000 to address food insecurity issues with projects including agricultural learning centers, community prep and processing kitchens, community gardens, and farmer’s markets.
