St. Louis, MO (KTRS) Students continue to raise their voices against gun violence.
Students across the country, including in the St. Louis area, participated in another National School Walkout Day Friday morning. This was followed by a demonstration of hundreds of students outside of the downtown office of Attorney General Josh Hawley. The event was hosted by the organization Students Demand Action St. Louis. Organizers say this protest is to take on elected officials and the NRA.
“Our legislatures, our representatives, our senators need to be aware that their future constituents care about this issue.” said Sunny Lu, lead organizer.
The Walk Out falls on today’s 19th anniversary of the shooting massacre at Columbine High School.
Organizers say another demonstration is planned for May 19th.
