(KTRS) – Police arrested a St. Louis City alderman Monday on suspicion of domestic abuse.

The Post-Dispatch reports that Alderman Chris Carter was arrested after a traffic stop in St. Louis County. The arrest stems from an incident on April 30. Carter’s wife says that during an argument the two shoved each other and then Carter grabbed her arms and began twisting them.

Police are still trying to determine if they will apply for charges against Carter.
