(KTRS) – St. Charles County joined St. Louis City and County in approving a prescription drug monitoring database.

The county council approved a bill that establishes the program. Councilman Joe Brazil sponsored the legislation and says this is a huge step in the fight against the heroin epidemic. Missouri remains the only state without a statewide drug monitoring program.
