Affton, MO (KTRS)  A suspect who was shot by police in south county last week has died.

Police announced on Sunday that 38-year-old Joshua Lanflisi died of his injuries on Friday. Investigators say Lanflisi called 9-1-1 from his Affton home on Harlan Avenue early on the morning of October 1st.

When officers arrived, police said Lanflisi initially refused to open the door. He later stepped out onto the porch, holding a gun in one hand and sword in the other hand. Police say when Lanflisi refused to comply with police commands to drop the weapons, an officer shot him several times.

Police say a suicide note was found in Lanflisi’s home.
