St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  The latest round of winter weather is to blame for numerous accidents during the Monday morning commute.

MODOT officials report that it had limited staff over the weekend in preparation of the storm. MODOT said they weren’t fully staffed until 3 a.m..

Meanwhile, the dropping temperatures are could cause re-freezing on the roadways throughout the day. Motorists are urged to exercise caution.

Both MODOT and IDOT crews will work throughout the day to treat the roadways.
