WICHITA, Kan – Saint Louis fell 75-45 at Wichita State Tuesday night in nonconference men’s basketball action at Koch Arena.
The Billikens fall to 2-6 overall, while the Shockers improve to 8-2.
Jermaine Bishop led the Billikens with 12 points. He also pulled down eight rebounds, dished out seven assists and registered four steals.
Zeke Moore scored a career-high 11 points for the Billikens.
SLU shot just 3-of-29 from the field in the first half, but improved to 12-of-29 in the second.
Wichita State was led by Rashard Kelly, who scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
The Shockers raced out to a 13-0 lead at the start. Jalen Johnson put the Billikens on the board with a 3-pointer at the 10:46 mark. Elliott Welmer would score five of the Billikens’ nine points in the first half as the teams went into the locker room with the Shockers leading 36-9.
The second half saw the Billikens hit some early 3-pointers, but they were never able to rebound from the sluggish start. All of Bishop’s and Moore’s points came in the second session.
Saint Louis returns to action this Sunday when it faces Chicago State at Chaifetz Arena. Tip time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
