BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Slain Baton Rouge police officer Matthew Gerald celebrated his fourth wedding anniversary just two weeks ago.
A neighbor of slain Baton Rouge sheriff’s deputy Brad Garafola says he was a family man.
Rhonda Smith says Garafola was never seen without at least one of his four children, who range in age 7 to 21.
Smith says Garafola was, “the epitome of a peace officer.”
The family of a 32-year-old Baton Rouge police officer Montrell Jackson says he was a man of “God, family and the police force.”
Jackson’s family was gathered outside his mother’s house in Baton Rouge to mourn his loss.
