Topeka, KS  (KTRS)  Former St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson is seeking to lead another police department in the Midwest.

Dotson is among three finalists being considered for the next police chief with the Topeka Police Department. The two other finalists are Topeka Police Interim Chief Bill Cochran and Yakima, Washington, Police Chief Dominic Rizzi, Jr.

Each of the candidates will attend a reception on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the downtown Topeka Ramada Hotel.

Dotson led the St. Louis Police Department for more than four years. He retired the day Mayor Lyda Krewson took office last year.
