The Board of Education took no action on the Riverview Gardens School District’s request for reclassification as provisionally accredited. The Board acknowledged the district’s significant improvement efforts.
“The students, teachers and leaders in Riverview Gardens have worked very hard to improve their schools and help students succeed,” said Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven. “The Board’s decision is not a reflection on their tremendous progress in the last few years.”
Riverview Gardens had requested the classification in October of last year. The state board is postponing the district’s review until the fall.
