St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  The first major winter storm of the season is expected in the St. Louis area.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the metro-east, while much of the St. Louis area is under a winter weather advisory. This storm could bring 4 to 8 inches of snow beginning Thursday night.

The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency said its important to start adjusting your travel plans now.
