The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 23-year-old Emir Muhic, of Arnold, was arrested Monday after a chase ended with a crash. He’s charged with second-degree assault, stealing and resisting arrest.
Arnold police Lt. Clinton Wooldridge says an officer handcuffed Muhic while investigating a tool theft. The officer then put Muhic in the SUV and went to return stolen items.
Police say that’s when Muhic managed to shimmy through a small window that separates the front seat from the back seat. The officer was struck as he tried to grab the door handle of the SUV but wasn’t hurt.
Muhic has a criminal history that includes narcotics cases.
