St. Louis County, MO (KTRS)  Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal accident on I-64 in west county.

Authorities say one person is dead after a car caught on fire after being trapped in a crash with a tractor-trailer on eastbound 64 near Mason. At least 15 vehicles are involved in this accident.

This has resulted in the eastbound lanes being shut down near I-270. The highway closure is expected to last for several hours. Motorists are being diverted.
