(KTRS) – If you look at the sky tonight, there is the possibility you could see the Northern Lights.

A forecast from the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks says a powerful magnetic storm will greatly expand the area in which the lights can be seen. You will have to be in a dark place to have a chance to see the display.

The aurora may be visible as far south as North Carolina.
