The Associated Press – Arizona Sen. John McCain says the “Kardashian-effect” is partially what has made Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump so popular among would-be voters in the lead up to early voting.
In an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Tuesday, the senator said that Trump “has struck certain cords” with the American people that “inspires a lot of emotion.”
“It’s `Make America Great Again,’ it’s partially the Kardashian-effect, a lot of things all mixed together,” he said of the former reality television star’s success thus far. “If he’s elected president I have to (work with him). There are too many threats to our nation’s security.”
McCain says has no plans to endorse any of the Republican candidates running for president, saying he’s been wrong “in every prediction so far.”
