East St. Louis, IL  (KTRS)  A man is dead after being hit by a MetroLink train in East St. Louis.

Authorities say the victim was walking on the tracks just east of the Fairview Heights station off North 94th Street when he was struck by a westbound train at just before 8 p.m. Saturday. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

The incident prompted a disruption in service while authorities investigated.
