The Coast Guard has rescued a man from the Mississippi River after he was involved in a two-car accident Thursday morning at around 8:30 on the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge. St. Louis firefighters report the man, who was wearing a hospital gown, jumped 100 feet into the river and was in the water for about 20 minutes. He was rescued downstream south of the Poplar Street Bridge. Authorities say the man was conscious when rescued and is being treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
