St. Louis, MO (KTRS) — A man is dead following a fire at a vacant house in south St. Louis.
Firefighters were called to the burning home in the 4300 block of Lafayette Avenue around 10 a.m. Tuesday. St. Louis Fire Captain Garon Mosby says there were bars on the doors so firefighters had to make a forced entry to the home. That’s when they found the victim’s body outside of a bedroom, at the top of the staircase. Mosby also said the building didn’t have utilities.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
