The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 38-year-old Lamont Parker was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Veronica Taylor. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
Charging documents say she and Parker were arguing early on the morning of July 29 and that she was shot in the head when she got out of her car to speak to someone else.
Prison and court records show Parker was on probation at the time of the shooting. In 2007, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He also has prior drug and weapon related convictions.
