ST. LOUIS (KTRS) Protesters upset with the ruling in the case of former St. Louis Police Officer Jason Stockley are calling for the resignation of police union business manager Jeff Roorda. Demonstrators gathered last night at Hampton Village at the intersection of Hampton and Chippewa and briefly shut down traffic at the intersection.
Meanwhile, State Rep. Nick Schroer (R-O’Fallon) says he plans to pre-file a bill for the next session that would increase criminal penalties against anyone who intentionally block or impede traffic without a permit. Schroer says he points to past Supreme Court rulings that indicate the First Amendment right is not an absolute right.
