The Labor Day weekend is considered the official end of summer and the three-day holiday is full of events.Parades are popular on Labor Day Monday, in the city of St.Louis, and on the east side in Belleville and Granite City….all featuring high school bands and floats, but there are lots of other family friendly activities over the weekend including the Greek Festival in the Central West End and the Japanese Festival at the MO Botanical Garden. There’s an art fair at Queeny Park, and the Big Muddy Blues Festival Sunday sponsored by the National Blues Museum and the Laclede’s Landing Riverfront District. On Saturday, a drone show takes to the sky at Grants Farm ,and Bethalto celebrates it’s homecoming. And on Sunday its a jazz and wine festival at Alton’s Riverfront Ampitheater. It’s a busy Labor day weekend, as American workers are honored, and summer officially comes to a close. Steve Potter, KTRS News.
