Corey Tate has moved on to SLU, so Kim Anderson and Mizzou needed to act fast to fill-out the coaching staff for the upcoming season. As Jon Rothstein and CBS Sports were first to report, Loyola-Chicago assistant Emanuel Dildy has been hired, and will take Tate’s place on the Mizzou basketball staff.
Dildy has been on Loyola’s coaching staff under Porter Moser for just over three years. He played his collegiate ball at New Mexico State and Eastern Illinois. The former Aggie and Panther is a Chicago native, and there is optimism that his roots could fortify a pipeline for the Tigers to northern Illinois.
It appears as if Dildy just missed the opportunity to join his new team on their trip to Italy. Mizzou departed for their 10-day international trip earlier on Friday.
