( KTRS ) Interstate 44 is now closed between Bowles Avenue and Route 109 in West County due to flooding of the Meramec River at Route 141. MoDOT spokesman Chris Kelly say the closure is between mile marker 264 and 273 and is expected to last a few days.
Due to other closures in the area, the traffic detour for local traffic is as follows:
- Eastbound I-44 traffic is detoured off at Route 30 in St. Clair in Franklin County, mile marker 239. From there they take
- Route 30 to Route 141 southbound in St. Louis County. From Route 141, they take northbound I-55 to I-270.
- Westbound I-44 traffic is detoured at I-270 east to I-55 south to Route 141 to Route 30 and back to I-44 at St. Clair in Franklin County.
Drivers can also use Route 100 between I-44 in Gray Summit and I-270 as another local option.
In addition, I-44 is also closed between Rolla and St. Robert, mile marker 186 to 161. These two closures as well as more than 220 other roads closed throughout Missouri are creating lots of detours for travelers.
