(KTRS) – The St. Louis Collector of Revenue, Gregory F.X. Daly says he will not run for mayor.

In a release, Daly said that this political season has taken a toll on everyone and he says he does not want to be a part of process that “could tear this city apart and divide the Democratic Party.” Instead, Daly will wait until the deadline for candidates to file passes in January and then choose a candidate to support.

He has more than $600,000 in campaign accounts and will use that money to support his chosen candidate.
